In Russia, the "Typhoon-K" (model K-53949) landing armored vehicle has been completely replaced with domestic components and is ready to be supplied to foreign customers. If required, Russia is even ready to help with the localization of the armored car production. This was announced by Rosoboronexport.
"Rosoboronexport presents to its partners the "Typhoon-K" family armored car, produced exclusively from Russian-made components. This vehicle has proven itself as a reliable and highly protected means of transporting personnel. "Typhoon-K" is in service with the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and has already confirmed its characteristics in real operating conditions and combat use," said Alexander Mikheev, General Director of Rosoboronexport.
"Rosoboronexport sees significant interest from foreign customers and is ready to cooperate in the format of industrial partnership in the production of "Typhoon-K" armored vehicles of various modifications, including with the localization of production. Today, we have a solid portfolio of completed projects for licensed production, cooperation within joint ventures, as well as for the creation of infrastructure for the maintenance and modernization of Russian military equipment on the territory of partners," he added.
Vehicles of the "Typhoon-K" line can accelerate to 100 km/h and ford water obstacles up to 1.5 m deep, as well as climb slopes with an angle of 30°. The vehicles can be equipped with different weapon systems – it all depends on the needs of the customer. As for the K-53949 model directly, it features increased mine and ballistic protection. The seats for the landing party here have a suspended mounting system to the roof.
