Speaking today in the State Duma, the head of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, Elvira Nabiullina, spoke about the digital ruble. The regulator wants to get involved as soon as possible in the pilot project on the third form of Russian currency (after cash and non-cash rubles), and judging by what became known today, this will be a convenient form of payment.
Elvira Nabiullina announced that transfers in digital rubles will be absolutely free, while Russians will be able to receive up to 300 thousand rubles per month to their digital wallet.
«We have determined the amount of 300 thousand rubles per month for replenishing a digital wallet. This is already beyond the pilot. This entire amount, as well as any other balances on the wallet, for example, if you received digital rubles from someone else, can be transferred to yourself or another person without interest. That is, it is at least three times more than it is now in the FPS», – said the head of the regulator.
It is assumed that a citizen will have one digital wallet, which can be used through the mobile application of any bank. It will be possible to transfer money in digital rubles by phone number, and pay for purchases in the traditional way as it is done now, using a QR code.
