The company Mercedes-Benz last year completely stopped its operations in Russia and put up its main asset - a factory for sale. The buyer was quickly found - it's a large dealer 'Autodom'. However, as the German edition of Handelsblatt wrote, Mercedes-Benz, if desired and such a possibility (when European sanctions are lifted), will be able to return the factory to itself.

As Handelsblatt writes, Mercedes-Benz has an option to repurchase its assets from 'Autodom'. "We agreed with the buyer on an option that allows us to buy back company shares in case of sanctions lifting", - said a representative of the German company. Thus, "Mercedes-Benz is one step closer to returning to the Russian market", - wrote the Handelsblatt edition.

It was previously reported that 'Autodom' may set up production at the Mercedes-Benz factory of luxury cars from China. It was about the Hongqi brand, which belongs to the FAW Group. Cars for the party elite of the PRC are also produced under the Hongqi brand.
