According to vc.ru, citing Vedomosti, the largest Russian bank, Sber, is switching to laptops of its own production. The company is already testing 10,000 such devices in its offices.
The laptops are not assembled in Russia; they were supplied from China by SalutDevices (SberDevices) in collaboration with the Chinese company Shanghai IP3 Information Technology. It is noted that at the end of 2022, 9,200 Sber laptops were imported into Russia.
SberDevices said that the laptops are needed for their own needs in order to "provide employees with equipment in a timely manner." According to Vedomosti's sources, the bank needs about 100-150 thousand such devices, so 10 thousand does not even cover a tenth of Sber's needs for this equipment.
