As vc.ru reports, citing Vedomosti, the largest Russian bank - Sberbank - is transitioning to laptops of its own production. The company is already testing 10,000 such devices in its offices.
The laptops are not assembled in Russia - they were supplied from China by the company SberDevices in cooperation with the PRG company Shanghai IP3 Information Technology. It is noted that by the end of 2022, 9,200 Sberbank's laptops had been imported into Russia.
SberDevices reported that the laptops are needed for their own needs, in order to 'timely equip employees with equipment'. According to Vedomosti's sources, the bank needs about 100-150k such devices, so 10k doesn't even cover a tenth of Sberbank's needs for this technology.
