Head of "Roscosmos": satellite optics will allow to see stars on shoulder straps

This is a hint at a strong increase in the resolution of the new generation Russian remote sensing satellites

The head of "Roscosmos" Yuri Borisov, speaking at the International Film Festival of films and programs about space (IFF) "Tsiolkovsky", hinted at a strong increase in the resolution of future Russian remote sensing satellites.

"You will be able to see the stars on the shoulder straps from space", - said Borisov, specifying that at the moment the resolution of the best optical systems of observation satellites is 0.3 m.

Recall, Russia will launch new observation and remote sensing satellites as part of the "Sphere" program. The Sphere program will include five satellite groups providing telephony and data transmission services, and another five - observation. The first "Scythian-D" device ("demonstrator") under the program was launched in 2022.
