The head of "Roscosmos" Yuri Borisov is convinced that the projects that the Russian space agency is currently focused on will significantly advance the exploration of space.
"We are already working on projects today that will allow us to go further in space exploration and its capabilities, beyond the horizons of any fiction", - said Borisov at the premiere of the film "The Challenge". "There is a lot of work ahead, but I know that together with you Russian space will always be on the highest orbit", - added the head of "Roscosmos".
In a major interview with TASS, Borisov said that the priority areas of Russian manned cosmonautics are work on the national orbital station and flights to the Moon.
"Both areas are key to the development of Russian manned cosmonautics. Roskosmos is developing a sketch project of a new Russian orbital station, during which its shape will be determined and the main variant of deployment and inclination of the station's target orbit will be chosen. We have involved the widest range of society in the discussion on what the ROS should be, from specialized universities to the Russian Academy of Sciences", - said Yuri Borisov.
"As for flying to the Moon, for a mission to land a cosmonaut on the surface of the Moon, approval of the program for creating a super-heavy class space rocket complex (CRK STK) is required. Currently, the project program, as well as the development and approval of the lunar program, are being agreed upon in federal executive bodies", - added the head of "Roskosmos".
