The head of Roscosmos, Yuri Borisov, is convinced that the projects on which the Russian space agency is currently focusing its efforts will seriously advance space exploration.
«Today, we are already working on projects that will allow us to advance further in the exploration of space and its capabilities, beyond the horizons of any fantasy,» Borisov said at the premiere of the film "The Challenge." «There is a lot of work ahead, but I know that together with you, Russian space will always be in the highest orbit,» added the head of Roscosmos.
In a large interview with TASS, Borisov said that the priority areas of Russian manned spaceflight are work on the national orbital station and a flight to the Moon.
«Both directions are key to the development of Russian manned spaceflight. Roscosmos is developing a preliminary design of a new Russian orbital station, during which its appearance will be determined and the main option for deployment and inclination of the station's target orbit will be selected. We have involved the widest range of the public in the discussion of what the ROS should be like — from specialized universities to the Russian Academy of Sciences,» said Yuri Borisov.
«As for the flight to the Moon, the approval of the program for the creation of a super-heavy-class space rocket complex (KRK STK) is necessary for the mission to land an astronaut on the surface of the Moon. Currently, the draft program, as well as the development and approval of the lunar program, are under coordination in the federal executive authorities,» added the head of Roscosmos.
