TelecomDaily conducted a study and found that over five years — from 2018 to 2023 — in Russia, the tariff for SMS-informing about purchases made increased by an average of 53.7%. But different credit institutions approach pricing differently. Tinkoff, for example, has not changed the tariff cost at all during this time, while the cost of the service at Bank Rossiya has increased by 230% during this time.
Over five years, the SMS-informing tariff at Sberbank and Rosselkhozbank increased by 17%, at MTS Bank — by 18%, at Bank St. Petersburg — by 29%, at Gazprombank and Otkritie — by 68%, at Rosbank — by 116%.
Interestingly, although Raiffeisen did not change the tariff cost from 2018 to the beginning of the second quarter of 2023, it has already announced that from May 1, the cost will increase immediately by 232% — from 60 rubles to 199 rubles. Taking this into account, the average increase in the tariff cost will be not 53.7%, but 67.3%.
