One of the most effective Russian loitering munitions (kamikaze drone), the "Geran-3", is equipped with a PBS TJ40-G2 jet engine manufactured by the Czech company PBS Velká Bíteš. This was reported by the Western publication Technology, citing sources.
The author emphasized that the West, due to sanctions, prohibits the supply of components to Russia that can be used for military purposes. Obviously, the ban also applies to engines for drones.
However, this does not mean that PBS Velká Bíteš is violating sanctions. Most likely, the power units ended up in Russia through third countries. Someone legally bought the engines and then exported them without the noise.
Technology also claims that the "Geran-3" is also equipped with Chinese SW400pro jet engines.
In essence, this means that the manufacturer of "Geran" uses everything it can get. Obviously, Chinese components are much easier to buy, as they are available on the market.
Russian authorities have repeatedly stated that the country has adapted to Western sanctions. Economic restrictions hit harder those who impose them, Moscow added.
