The Krona-E short-range anti-aircraft missile system can disable the enemy's most powerful weapons. This was written by military expert Brandon J. Weichert in an article for The National Interest.
The Krona-E SAM system is a countermeasure in the fight against drones. The complex, presented by the Kalashnikov concern at the IDEX 2025 exhibition in Abu Dhabi, is designed to protect critical infrastructure, government facilities and urban areas. The Krona-E SAM system combines advanced detection, automation and high-precision guided missiles to counter a wide range of threats.
Weichert noted that guided missiles 9M340 (with laser guidance) and 9M333 (infrared homing) guarantee the destruction of any detected targets, including cruise missiles, helicopters, and high-precision ammunition.
According to the expert, the Krona-E can create a reliable protective "shell" around strategic assets in Russia. The SAM system is integrated with the Pantsir-S1/S-400 and exchanges data with them, which forms a multi-level defense system.
On a global scale, the Krona-E proves that Russia is a key player in the drone defense market.
