Бронезащита лучше, чем у Bradley: в чём плюсы новейшего БТР Б-10 на базе «Курганца-25»

The combat vehicle is armed with a 12.7-mm NSVT machine gun

A heavy armored personnel carrier BTR B-10 on the tracked chassis of the infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) "Kurganets-25" has been developed for the Russian military. The armored vehicle is equipped with advanced dynamic protection (DZ) modules, providing equivalent resistance to tandem cumulative warheads of about 600-750 mm.

In safe maneuvering angles up to 45 degrees, the protection of the side armor plates from all types of hand-held anti-tank grenade launchers is ensured.

Also, a "Kaktus" DZ kit was developed for the BTR B-10, providing coverage of the side projections of the armored vehicle hull. Thanks to it, the lower and upper frontal parts of the hull are reliably protected from armor-piercing fin-stabilized discarding sabot projectiles M919. Instead of the "Boomerang-BM" combat module, a module with a 12.7-mm NSVT machine gun was installed on the B-10.

The armor protection of this vehicle may significantly exceed that of the BMP M2A2 ODS-SA Bradley. Moreover, compared to the M2A2, the BTR B-10 has the final drive housings recessed into the armor dimensions, which protects them from 12.7-mm and 14.5-mm armor-piercing bullets. The personnel of the Russian Armed Forces are waiting for the appearance of these vehicles in motorized rifle units today.
