Parents of minors in Russia will find it easier to confirm their children's identity without paper documents. The government has expanded the list of situations in which a birth certificate can be presented via the Max messenger. Now, the digital version is allowed for use when purchasing tickets, traveling by transport, seeking medical assistance, and receiving public services. This was reported by the Ministry of Digital Development.

The new rules also apply to discounted and free travel, visits to polyclinics under compulsory medical insurance, MFCs, museums, cultural, and sports events. The electronic certificate can also be shown when purchasing discounted tickets and receiving other services that require confirmation of a child's identity.

To use the function, the parent simply needs to open the "Family and Children" section in the "Digital ID" service within Max and show the QR code. The organization's employee will scan it and receive the necessary information from the document. However, new features will appear gradually, as institutions connect to the system.

Previously, the electronic certificate was already allowed for use when checking children into hotels. According to the Ministry of Digital Development, more than 3,000 hotels across Russia have connected to the service. The use of digital documents remains voluntary: the familiar paper certificate remains valid, and there will be no need to give it up.
