Russian banks have started to solve the problem with access to the digital ruble on iPhone. Some financial organizations already allow Apple smartphone owners to open accounts and use the new form of national currency through their applications. This was stated by Deputy Chairman of the Bank of Russia, Zulfiya Kakhrumanova. According to her, over time, the necessary capabilities should appear in other banks as well.

The problem is related to restrictions on the distribution of Russian banking applications in the App Store, due to which iPhone owners cannot always install the necessary program. The Central Bank advises contacting their bank's support directly: specialists should tell them how to get the appropriate application and use the digital wallet.
I think that over time all banks will solve this problem. You can contact the bank's support, and they will offer an option for obtaining the appropriate application.
At the same time, digital rubles are stored not in a specific bank, but on the Central Bank's platform. Access to one wallet can be obtained through applications of different credit organizations where the user has accounts. This allows using funds through another bank if technical difficulties arise in the first bank's application.
The mass introduction of the digital ruble began on September 1, 2026. According to the regulator, in the first month, Russians and companies opened more than 220 thousand accounts, of which about 10 thousand belong to legal entities. During this time, over 150 thousand operations were carried out on the platform, and the pace of implementation exceeded the Central Bank's initial expectations.
The digital ruble is the third form of national currency along with cash and non-cash money. Its use is voluntary, and topping up wallets, transfers, and paying for purchases are commission-free for citizens.
