Striking Geran drones have been equipped with tubes perpendicular to the fuselage in the nose section, which have been dubbed "whiskers." Their purpose, citing foreign sources, was explained by the "Voennoye Obozreniye" publication.

This refers to a conventional mechanical detonator. Inside the metal tube is a rod. Upon contact with an obstacle, mechanical contact closure occurs, and a command for explosion is issued.
There are no sensors or complex detectors in the detonator, which makes the solution inexpensive and effective.
The mechanical detonator on the "whiskers" expands the activation zone. The drone detonates not only upon impact with the body but also upon touching the target with the protruding tubes — for example, when it brushes against the edge of a shelter or equipment tangentially. This increases the probability of the warhead detonating at the target.
