The modernized BTZ 254K.20 tractor has begun acceptance tests at the Volga State Zonal Machine Testing Station of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture in the Samara region. The machine from the Bryansk Tractor Plant, part of the UMG Group of Companies, is undergoing checks in combination with an AD 6×2 disc harrow.

During the tests, specialists will evaluate the tractor's traction and power characteristics, productivity in various operations, fuel consumption, and performance with agricultural implements. The checks will last until the end of November 2026, and their results are planned to be used in preparing the modernized machine for certification in 2027.

The main changes affected systems responsible for braking, cooling, and working with trailed equipment. The BTZ 254K.20 is equipped with axles with energy accumulators that function as service and parking brakes. The cooling of the gearbox and hydraulic system has also been enhanced, and an additional valve has been added for connecting trailers with a dual-circuit braking system.

The mirror mounting system has been redesigned to improve visibility. The lighting equipment has been supplemented with higher-efficiency headlights and additional light sources directed into the front hemisphere. These should improve illumination of the working area when operating in the dark. In addition, a set of solutions has been applied to increase the efficiency of the cooling system.

Changes also affected the cabin. The tractor received a modernized seat with reinforced suspension, front and rear sun blinds, and side window protection from sunlight is offered as an option. Special handrails and footrests designed for safe access to machine components have been added for maintenance.

The power unit is specified as a six-cylinder YaMZ-53645 engine with 250 hp. The transmission includes a mechanical gearbox with power-shift capability, and the fuel tank capacity is 500 liters.

The BTZ 254K.20 is designed for plowing, discing, cultivating, harrowing, pre-sowing soil preparation, sowing, and harvesting. The tractor is also designed to work with trailers and semi-trailers with a total weight of up to 20 tons.
