OAO "KB Radar" is developing its own powerful radio transmitter for Belarusian electronic warfare systems. The device is named "Narochanka", operates in the HF band, and is designed for a nominal output power of 5000 W. The development was reported by the State Military Industrial Committee of Belarus.

The main feature of the project is related not only to its power but also to its purpose. "Narochanka" is being created to equip existing and prospective HF-band electronic warfare systems of its own production. According to the State Military Industrial Committee, the transmitter should allow for the replacement of foreign components used in similar systems.

The State Military Industrial Committee states that, compared to foreign counterparts, the transmitter should feature lower power consumption, lower cost, and reduced delivery times.

The HF band is used for long-distance radio communication, partly due to the propagation of radio waves reflecting off the ionosphere. For EW systems, operating in this band allows for influencing the corresponding radio frequency spectrum.
