The UAV crew of the "Dnepr" group of forces used the modernized "Molniya" aircraft-type drone as an FPV drone carrier at a distance of up to 70 km. This was reported to RIA Novosti by the deputy commander of the unmanned systems battalion of the 49th Army with the call sign Donskoy. According to him, the apparatus was modernized in field laboratories.

Donskoy reported that initially, a range of 30 km was declared for the apparatus, but the military performed flights at distances several times greater than that. 

After the FPV drone separates, the "Molniya" itself can continue to work on the same or another target, Donskoy said. In this configuration, the military uses the drone as an "air mother ship".
