Rostselmash plans to release a pilot industrial batch of road construction equipment in 2028. Konstantin Babkin, co-owner of the company and head of the Rosspetsmash Association, announced this in an interview with Vedomosti.

We are currently at the pilot industrial batch stage. So far, the costs are not very high. When we reach mass production, it will be billions of rubles.

According to him, the product range announced in Taganrog remains the same: telescopic and front-end loaders, followed by an excavator and a backhoe loader. The first prototypes will be assembled next year, and the pilot industrial batch will consist of approximately 20 machines in 2028.

Earlier, it was reported that Rostselmash is preparing to start mass production of road construction equipment in 2027. Initially, the first serial machines were planned for late 2025 – early 2026. The intention to produce such equipment became known in 2022, which was related to the departure of European suppliers from the Russian market.

Rostselmash has been adapting to declining demand for agricultural machinery for the fourth year. The company is reducing costs and investments but continues to work on new models. In 2026, the management expects zero profitability, and considering investments of 2.8 billion rubles, a loss.
