At the DST-Ural plant's proving ground, within the framework of the "Spetsmashexpo" exhibition, the E12 bulldozer was presented, featuring an electromechanical transmission and a triangular undercarriage design. The manufacturer calls it the first serial hybrid machine of Russian production.

The E12 is based on a series hybrid scheme: the diesel engine operates in optimal mode for the generator, and movement is provided by high-torque electric motors. This architecture allowed for the elimination of a mechanical gearbox, torque converter, and cardan shafts. According to the manufacturer, the transmission design has become simpler, and its service life is longer.
The second key solution is the triangular undercarriage. The gearbox, raised above the ground, reduces the risk of damage on uneven surfaces and unloads the undercarriage components. The three-point support of the track bogies with a balancing beam ensures stability and consistent performance during leveling. A specific pressure of 0.69 kgf/cm² allows operation on weak and waterlogged soils.
With comparable performance to traditional counterparts, this configuration provides up to 30% fuel savings, reduces downtime for repairs, and makes ownership costs predictable, the manufacturer states. Energy recuperation during deceleration extends brake life, and smooth stepless speed control reduces track wear.
Previously, DST-Ural launched the D12E hybrid bulldozer with a similar series scheme into production. The first serial machines were shipped to customers in June 2026.
