On September 10, the government aircraft Il-96-300PU of the Special Flight Detachment (SLO) "Russia" with registration number RA-96022 arrived in New Delhi from Moscow. Information about the flight was recorded by the Flightradar24 tracking system.

The actual flight time was 8 hours and 55 minutes. The tracking map shows that the airliner followed a complex trajectory. First, it headed southeast deep into Russian territory, passing over Kazan, and then flew through Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, bypassing Afghanistan's airspace.

Then the route passed through Pakistani territory, from where the aircraft landed in India from the western direction.

The distance between Moscow and New Delhi is approximately 4,356 km. Apparently, the actual trajectory was longer – about 7,150 km. The cruising speed of the Il-96-300PU is about 850 km/h, while the ground speed is up to 820 km/h.

Multiplying this speed by the actual flight time indicated above, we get a real route length of around 7,100–7,300 km.

The IDRW agency specified that five Il-76 military transport aircraft had also arrived in New Delhi earlier for the upcoming BRICS summit.
