Far Eastern shipbuilders launched the suction dredger "Vyacheslav Makarov" of Project C500D (hull number 168). The technical fleet vessel was assembled in the boathouse of the Khabarovsk Shipyard. This was reported by the company's press service.

Work on the slipway was carried out from August 20 to September 1, with specialists from the Tsimlyansk Ship Mechanical Plant also participating. After launching, the dredger will be sent for mooring trials.

Project C500D vessels are designed for excavation, removal, transportation, and placement of soil during the construction of earthworks, extraction of building materials, and dredging operations.

Characteristics of Project C500D dredgers:

  • Length — 33 m
  • Width — 9.26 m
  • Side height — 1.75 m
  • Draft — 0.94 m
  • Calculated excavation depth — up to 12 m

Project C500D was developed at the Tsimlyansk Ship Mechanical Plant (Rostov Oblast), which specializes in creating technical fleet vessels. The enterprise also produces dredgers of projects C480D, C485D, which differ in size and power.
