Serial production of the frame Haval H9 – the flagship SUV of the Haval Pro line – has begun at the Avtotor plant in Kaliningrad. At the first stage, the plant does not weld or paint the body itself: cars are assembled based on an already welded and painted body, and then the number of operations performed at the enterprise is planned to gradually increase.

It is the phased expansion of production that will be the next stage of the project. Avtotor must increase the level of localization, so the current launch rather signifies the beginning of the transfer of H9 production to the Russian site, rather than the completion of this process.

The Haval H9 remains a classic frame SUV with a seven-seater interior, intelligent all-wheel drive, low range, and differential locks. For passengers, there is three-zone climate control, double glazing, and transformable second and third rows, while the front seats, depending on the trim level, are equipped with ventilation and massage.

In early 2026, the H9 was updated: the SUV received a new grille with gray trim, unpainted plastic wheel arch extensions, and a set of digital functions. Yandex Auto services were integrated into the standard multimedia system, voice control was added, and over-the-air (OTA) software updates were introduced.

For the Russian market, the H9 also received a winter package and additional anti-corrosion body treatment. Production at Avtotor will be accompanied by quality control according to GWM standards, and further development of the project should show how deeply the manufacturer will be able to localize the production of this model.
