On the night of September 8, 10 long-range aircraft took to the skies as part of a combat mission. According to monitoring resources, first, 4 Tu-160 supersonic strategic missile carriers took off, and then 6 Tu-95MS joined them.

The main armament of the Tu-160 and Tu-95MS is the long-range Kh-101 cruise missile. The "White Swan" is theoretically capable of carrying up to 12 such missiles.

The "Bear" also uses Kh-101 for launches, but the combat load composition depends on the specific aircraft modification.

The number of Tu-160s in the Russian Aerospace Forces is estimated at about 18–20 aircraft, and Tu-95s — from 55 to 60.

"Pervyy Tekhnicheskiy" analyzed in a large article why it is impossible to resume the production of "Bears" in Russia. As for the Tu-160, their production was revived at the Kazan Aircraft Plant, where, according to various estimates, 5 new units have already been built.
