The "Moskvich" automobile plant has begun assembling the first M70 body using small-node assembly technology. At this stage, engineers are verifying the compliance of the sequence of operations, as stipulated in the production documentation, with the actual process on the line, and making adjustments if necessary. After the work is completed, operators will be trained in new operations at their workstations. This stage will prepare the enterprise for launching serial assembly of the M70 on the conveyor.

For the new technology, three workshops at the enterprise are being modernized simultaneously – welding, painting, and assembly. In the welding shop, more than 20 new robots, a modern laser welding stand, and over 80 special tables for welding body elements have been installed. In the painting shop, the system that moves the bodies of the new model has been updated, and more than 40 industrial robots have been engaged.
After the modernization is completed, the plant will be able to independently perform the full cycle of welding, painting, and assembly of M70 bodies.
The next step will be the production of a batch of cars, which will be sent for certification and control tests. After internal checks, "Moskvich" plans to launch serial production of the M70 using small-node assembly technology.
The model appeared on the Russian market in the spring of 2026. Initially, cars were assembled from ready-made car kits supplied from China, using the large-node assembly method. Now the plant is transitioning to deeper production localization.
