Tests of a control system for robotic dogs, which will autonomously patrol the territory of infrastructure facilities, are starting in Moscow. The developer is Q Group (Qubot). The system allows controlling several robots simultaneously and storing up to 20 interactive object maps.
According to the developer, robot dogs can operate autonomously for up to five hours without recharging and cover a distance of up to 10 km. Control is carried out via a digital map: the operator sets the route and control points, after which the robot acts independently — bypasses obstacles, analyzes the situation using artificial intelligence, and transmits video recordings of violations in real time.
If a robot dog detects a violation, it can address a person verbally. The robot identifies as a violation the appearance in a protected area, vandalism, graffiti, smoking in unauthorized places, improper parking, and non-compliance with safety regulations.
The developers note that the control system allows remote control of several robots simultaneously, and autonomous operation for up to five hours makes it effective for patrolling large objects. After the tests are completed, a decision will be made on scaling the project to other sites.
