The Illiquid Due to Boeing Il-96-400M is Only 28% Ready

The long-haul airliner flew 34 hours in July

The certification level of the newest wide-body aircraft Il-96-400M is currently 28%. These calculations were provided by analysts of the "Letayem vmeste" project.

The Il-96-400M performed long flights to Irkutsk, Kamchatka, and Yakutia. But it hasn't flown since July 14. Instead, the experimental Il-96-300 with tail number №96007 is currently flying, but there are no statistics.

Aviation expert Oleg Panteleev stated that the Il-96-400M with four PS-90A engines is not of interest to airlines that have chosen similar wide-body aircraft from Boeing and Airbus.

This situation effectively makes the airliner "unnecessary" in the domestic transportation market.

Earlier, "Pervyy tekhnicheskiy" in a large review article compared the capabilities of the Il-96-400M with the global benchmark for long-haul efficiency — the Airbus A350-1000.
