Russia plans to create three new vaccines for the treatment of oncological diseases. These include drugs against bladder cancer, small cell lung cancer, and colorectal cancer. This was announced by Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Scientific Director of the N. F. Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology, Alexander Gintsburg.

Scientists are already working on the bladder cancer vaccine "Imuron-VAC". According to Alexander Gintsburg, the drug may receive state registration within the next 12 months.

The Gamaleya Center is developing the drug in cooperation with the Bashkir State Medical University and the I. M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University.

The development of this direction has already gone beyond laboratory research. In April, the first patient — a 60-year-old resident of the Kursk region — received a personalized vaccine for the treatment of melanoma. He will complete the course of therapy in September.

This refers to the drug "Neooncovac" — a vaccine created individually for each patient, taking into account the molecular genetic characteristics of their tumor. The Ministry of Health issued permission for the use of the drug in clinical practice at the end of 2025.
