Production of the all-wheel drive version of the new Jeland J6 (AWD) crossover has started in St. Petersburg. The AGR holding company has launched the car's production at its Shushary plant, where the car will undergo a full assembly cycle – from body welding to painting and final assembly. In the first stage, the Jeland J6 AWD will be produced in the "Prestige" trim level.
New crossover to be produced using a full cycle
The AGR holding company's automotive plant in Shushary previously underwent a complete technical re-equipment.
The car is produced using a full production cycle: body welding, painting, and assembly are performed at the enterprise.
The all-wheel drive version will feature newly designed alloy wheels, an 8.88-inch color digital instrument panel, and a more powerful octa-core multimedia system processor.
Cabin comfort is provided by a panoramic roof, multi-layered front windows, ambient lighting, heated seats, and ventilated front seats.
All-wheel drive automatically selects settings for road conditions
The Jeland J6 received an intelligent all-wheel drive system. It allows you to choose one of six driving modes and automatically adjusts the car's settings depending on the road situation.
This system should help adapt the crossover's operation to various operating conditions.
The all-wheel drive system is built on an electromagnetic multi-plate clutch that automatically engages the rear axle when the front wheels lose traction. Additionally, an electronic differential lock imitation function is implemented on the rear axle.
Characteristics of the Jeland J6 AWD all-wheel drive crossover
The all-wheel drive version of the Jeland J6 AWD crossover, presented in the top "Prestige" trim level, is equipped with a 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine (third-generation TGDI).
The engine is based on a lightweight aluminum block with cast iron sleeves, and for efficient cooling, an intercooler with forced liquid cooling is provided in the intake manifold. The power unit's output is 150 horsepower, and the torque reaches 275 N-m in the range of 2000–3500 rpm.
A 7-speed preselective robotic gearbox (7DCT) works in conjunction with the engine.
Competitors for the Jeland J6 AWD could be the Haval Jolion, Geely Atlas Pro, and Chery Tiggo 7 Pro – all of them offer all-wheel drive versions in a comparable price segment. The Haval Jolion is also quite close in characteristics (1.5 L, 150 hp, 7-speed robot) and often competes with Jeland in terms of trunk volume and ground clearance.
