Rare footage of the Russian "Gerbera-seeker" unmanned aerial vehicle being used as a kamikaze strike drone was published by the Telegram channel "Voenny Osvedomitel". Previously, these UAVs were mainly used as decoys to distract enemy air defense systems, but now their functionality has been expanded, turning them into a cheaper version of the "Geranium" strike drones.

"Gerbera-seeker" is the latest modification of the "Gerbera" drone, equipped with a machine vision module that allows it to recognize, capture, and track targets, simplifying the operator's work. The drone is capable of carrying a warhead. The flight range of the apparatus reaches 600 km, its wingspan is 2.4 meters, and its weight is up to 18 kg.

The use of "Gerbera-seeker" in a strike variant allows for targeting with lower costs, increases the intensity of attacks, and increases the load on the enemy's air defense system. Earlier, in June 2026, it was also reported that these UAVs were used to guide "Geranium" strike drones. In August 2025, footage of "Gerbera" being used as a decoy to detect air defense positions was published. Now, the apparatus can operate independently.
