Rostec announced the winners of the open ideas contest for creating special superstructures based on the light-duty KamAZ "Kompas" chassis. According to the state corporation, the jury selected three of the most interesting works from all applications.
The first place was taken by a drone complex for laser-light shows – the concept transforms the truck into a mobile platform for controlling a swarm of drones. The vehicle provides transportation of the devices, their rapid launch, recharging, and real-time coordination.
The second finalist was a premium autonomous camper for comfortable travel, and the third was a mobile refueling vehicle capable of helping drivers who didn't make it to the nearest gas station.
In addition to the top three, another concept related to drones attracts attention – a fire-fighting drone complex. In this version, the "Kompas" serves as a base for drones that scout fire sources, deliver fire extinguishing agents to hard-to-reach places, and transmit a thermal image to the operator.
The ideas remain on paper for now, but the very fact of their appearance in a civilian competition indicates market demand: drone operators are looking for a mobile platform capable of replacing stationary control points in the field.
