Rosrybolovstvo has received the legal right to use drones for unannounced inspections. The government has approved the procedure for their use, allowing inspectors not to warn landowners and vessel owners about upcoming flights, TASS reported.

Drones will search for illegal constructions in water protection zones, abandoned poaching nets, record sewage discharge, and unauthorized timber rafting. The only restriction for their flights will be compliance with state secret legislation.

This decision transforms the control over vast water areas from expensive and rare boat raids into continuous monitoring. Where violators previously hoped to evade detection, the effect of inevitability now operates.
