Lada Azimut has successfully completed a series of crash tests as part of state certification. As reported by the press service of AvtoVAZ, the test results showed that the new model meets national passive safety requirements with a significant margin.
A frontal impact against a deformable barrier with overlap was conducted at a speed of 56 km/h in accordance with UN Regulation No. R94 – airbags deployed on time, and dummy sensors recorded minimal and absolutely safe values. A side impact with a trolley and barrier at 50 km/h confirmed the effectiveness of the side curtain airbag, used on LADA for the first time: the driver's head load criterion remained well within the "green" zone.
Lada Azimut is the most equipped car in the brand's history. Multimedia with Sber, wireless charging, dual-zone climate control, panoramic roof, 360-degree camera, and unique electric heating of side windows come in one package with a body structure that withstood both impacts without critical deformations. In terms of dimensions, the crossover is comparable to Haval Jolion and Belgee X50+, and will initially receive two naturally aspirated engines: 1.6 (122 hp) and 1.8 (135 hp) with manual or CVT, and in the future – a turbo engine and a classic automatic transmission.
