A new wing assembly section for SJ-100 regional airliners has started operating in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. The Yakovlev Production Center has completely rebuilt the technological chain and now performs the entire cycle of wing work at one site, abandoning the receipt of finished units through intra-cooperative supplies.

Previously, wing parts arrived at the enterprise in finished form from other plants. Now, the center only receives the wing frame. All subsequent stages, from system installation to final assembly, are carried out in the new section of the updated final assembly shop.

Transferring the full cycle to its own site has reduced logistics costs, accelerated the production process, and increased quality control at each stage of work.

Aviation expert Roman Gusarov noted that the fully import-substituted SJ-100 received a number of technical solutions that are not available even in Boeing and Airbus. At the same time, the specialist urged not to rush with final assessments of the airliner until its actual operation begins.
