The story of the "pukhosos robots," which went viral on social media in early summer, has taken an unexpected turn. An application to register the trademark "Pukhosos" has indeed been submitted to Rospatent. However, reports that the brand has already been registered are not true.
The application was submitted to Rospatent on June 10, 2026. It covers the 03rd, 30th, and 35th classes of the International Classification of Goods and Services. Currently, the documents are only undergoing the first stage of review.
At this stage, specialists assess whether the application is correctly filed and if it can be forwarded. After this, a more in-depth examination may begin. It is then that Rospatent will decide whether to register the unusual trademark or reject the applicant.
The agency specifically emphasized that the mere submission of documents does not yet grant the owner exclusive rights to the word "Pukhosos." It also does not guarantee that the mark will successfully pass all checks and receive legal protection.
The name became widely known after a video about high-tech "pukhosos robots" allegedly cleaning the streets of Moscow. The video looked so convincing that many users mistook what was happening for a real urban development.
It was later revealed that the video was created by a neural network. Despite this, the idea quickly went viral, and Yandex recorded a sharp increase in user interest in "pukhosos" in early June.
