The Ministry of Digital Development wants to expand strict requirements for hosting providers. Currently, these apply to seven providers of key state systems, but from September 1, they may affect companies that serve municipal and other smaller platforms.

Providers may need cryptographic protection, connection to GosSOPKA, and capacity for technical means of operational-investigative activities. The Roskomnadzor registry lists 567 hosters, and not all of them have built infrastructure for such a level of control.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry fears that the market faces an expensive data center overhaul. They propose taking into account the security level of a specific system and giving companies at least a year to prepare. According to RUVDS, certification of even a small infrastructure starts from 5 million rubles.

The Ministry of Digital Development believes that most providers are already ready, so the costs will be small. Hosters are not arguing with security itself, but with uniform rules and too rapid a transition.
