Mayak Creates Automated Coating Application Unit

The machine has passed tests and is preparing for launch, with a second unit already under development

Designers at the Kirov-based Mayak plant (part of the Kalashnikov Concern) have created and tested the first unit for automated coating application on parts. The equipment is currently undergoing commissioning.

Previously, coatings were applied manually, resulting in inconsistent quality. The new machine eliminates the human factor, ensures uniform quality, and reduces processing time. Work on a second unit is already underway.

The development was carried out by Mayak's new automation and robotics department. Specialists are also recreating machines that are not available on the market – for example, modern versions of electro-diamond machines for spline work. In the future, the plant intends to produce its own robotic systems.
