AvtoVAZ is preparing a powerful and bright Lada Niva Sport with many improvements

The "Niva" will get another unusual version – bright, refined, and with a clear off-road character. AvtoVAZ continues to work on the Lada Niva Sport in the extreme Silk Way trim, named after the famous Silk Way Rally. According to RCI News, the SUV will be equipped with an engine from the Lada Vesta.

The new version will be equipped with a 1.8-liter 1.8Evo naturally aspirated engine. This engine produces 122 horsepower and 170 Nm of torque. Previously, it was expected that the Niva Sport Silk Way would receive a more powerful, forced version of this unit with 144 hp.

But the main feature of the car will not only be the engine. The SUV in the trim named after the rally should receive an exclusive bright orange body color, original interior trim with contrasting inserts and stitching, as well as a leather steering wheel with a perforated rim.

In addition, the Lada Niva Sport Silk Way will have a more serious off-road look. The version features a snorkel, a roof rack, LED headlights, power sills, more efficient brakes, upgraded suspension, and special "toothy" tires.
