The recent modernization of Tu-160 bombers to the Tu-160M standard has turned them into the longest-range combat aircraft in the world. This was stated by analysts from Military Watch Magazine.

Journalists recalled that the missile carrier can strike targets while remaining far beyond the range of air defense zones.
The Tu-160M also boasts exceptional range and endurance: new NK-32-02 engines reduce fuel consumption and increase range, making this aircraft one of the longest-range strategic bomber models in the world.
The program for the reproduction of the Tu-160 in a modernized form was launched by decision of the President of Russia more than 10 years ago — in May 2015.
The maximum flight range of the modernized Tu-160M without refueling is up to 14,000 km. The aircraft can stay in the air for up to 15 hours or more, limited mainly by the crew's endurance.
