The updated UAZ "Patriot", known as the "Russian Prado", has entered the final stage of testing with a new diesel engine. Testing is taking place at the NAMI proving ground, with road and laboratory checks being conducted simultaneously.
According to the manufacturer, the SUV is equipped with a Sollers 550010 turbodiesel engine with a volume of 2.0 liters and a power of 136 hp. This unit will be a key technical update for the model.
Currently, engineers are evaluating the vehicle's behavior in various operating modes, including noise and vibration levels, as well as the engine's environmental performance. Special attention is paid to the reliability of the power unit under increased loads.
In addition to the new engine, the updated "Patriot" will receive a number of changes in design and equipment: redesigned headlights and taillights, an updated central tunnel, and a new multimedia system with an enlarged screen.
Earlier, UAZ representatives announced that sales of the updated SUV are expected to start no later than the third quarter of 2026.
