Die with an ogival matrix: Russian engineers solved the problem of defects during metal drawing

The device allows obtaining high-quality products from a package of thin-sheet blanks

Tekhnoshchit company patented a die for pressure metal forming, designed for drawing axisymmetric parts. The device allows obtaining defect-free products from a package of thin-sheet blanks.

The die consists of a punch with a flat end surface and a matrix, which includes an installation, entry, and working parts. The punch applies pressure to the blank package, ensuring step-by-step drawing of parts. The key feature of the design is that the entry part of the matrix is made in an ogival shape (with a smooth profile resembling the nose of a bullet or projectile).

The developers achieved defect-free parts. The patent has already been obtained. The new die can be used in mechanical engineering, automotive industry, and other sectors.
