Recognizes objects up to 300 meters away: a computer vision system for high-speed vessels created in St. Petersburg

Flymar's development simplifies mooring and maneuvering in narrow channels

Specialists from the St. Petersburg company Flymar have developed a computer vision system for high-speed small vessels. The program analyzes the situation overboard and provides recommendations to ensure safe movement. This was reported by the company's press service.

The computer vision system recognizes objects on the water at a distance of up to 300 meters, and its reaction speed is 10 times higher than that of a human.

Flymar's development simplifies maneuvering in narrow channels, passage in marinas, and mooring. It is capable of transmitting information about the surface situation to other vessels or to a decision-making center.

The company will continue to collect data for neural network training, including for complex navigation conditions. In the future, the system is planned to be implemented in its own vessels and supplied to the market.
