The Russian military has modernized its field fuel tankers, increasing their operational speed and level of protection against unmanned aerial vehicles. This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Defence.

According to the agency, after implementing a series of technical and organizational solutions, the deployment time for a fuel tanker has been reduced from the previous 4–5 minutes to 45–50 seconds. Simultaneously, key operational characteristics of the equipment have been improved, including fuel delivery speed, pumping equipment performance, and tank capacity.

Special attention has been paid to countering drones and aerial reconnaissance assets. Electronic warfare systems, air defense systems, and special protective structures are used to protect the equipment. In addition, the military regularly changes routes and methods of fuel delivery to reduce detection risks.

The Ministry of Defence noted that fuel service units perform a large volume of tasks to supply equipment with fuel and lubricants, ensuring the uninterrupted operation of military infrastructure.
