Machine tools of the supplier of parts for the aircraft carrier "Admiral Kuznetsov" were bought as scrap metal

The Samara plant SPZ-4 is being investigated as part of a case concerning violations in the execution of state defense orders

The core equipment of the SPZ-4 bearing plant in Samara, which is involved in the case of supplying substandard components under a state defense order, consisted of machine tools acquired as scrap metal. This is stated in the materials of the tax audit of the enterprise.

The equipment was purchased in 2022 from the company "Afina" after the bankruptcy of another Samara plant – SPZ-9. The machine tools were sold not as working equipment, but by weight – as scrap.

Later, part of this equipment was registered with forged passports and put on the balance sheet of the enterprise. Before that, in the documentation, the machine tools were listed as "beds."

The investigation believes that SPZ-4 supplied low-quality bearings of foreign origin under the state defense order, passing them off as its own products. The components were intended, among other things, for the arresting gear of the heavy aircraft-carrying cruiser "Admiral Kuznetsov".

Earlier, the court arrested the beneficiaries of SPZ-4 in a fraud case. The amount of damage is estimated at almost 400 million rubles.
