Old Technologies in the Past? MAI Showcases New Aircraft Production Model

OAK engineers have mastered digital methods of production preparation and presented comprehensive design solutions

The Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI) has completed the training of specialists from PAO "United Aircraft Corporation" enterprises who work with digital methods of technological preparation for aircraft production.

At the core of the course was a new model for organizing aircraft production, where key stages of product preparation transition into a digital environment. Program participants underwent training in practical modules and consistently worked through the full cycle of technological preparation – from checking design documentation to forming a digital product passport.

Specialists worked with modern product lifecycle management systems, digital tools for technological preparation, and production planning.

The program also included CNC programming, metrological support, digital quality control, additive technologies, and elements of robotic solutions. Special emphasis was placed on integrating digital tools with existing industry standards and regulatory frameworks.

The final defense included four project areas, united by a single task – preparing for the serial production of the wing center section attachment unit to the fuselage of a prospective aircraft. The teams consistently worked through the stages of product creation: from analyzing design documentation and developing technological routes to forming control programs for CNC machines and elaborating assembly operations.

The work was conducted as a single digital production cycle, where each participant was responsible for a separate stage, and the result was a connected model for preparing the product for serial production in the digital aerospace environment.
