Serovskaya GRES has commissioned a new cleaning system for cooling tower heat exchangers. The solution is expected to increase the efficiency of equipment cooling and reduce the risk of deposits forming in the circulating water system. The project was implemented at the branch of PAO "OGK-2" in the Sverdlovsk region.
The new system cleans heat exchanger tubes without stopping the main equipment. This allows for stable operation of the cooling tower during periods of high loads and reduces maintenance costs. The station expects that the modernization will help improve heat exchange and increase the reliability of the power unit's operation.
Serovskaya GRES noted that the implementation of automated cleaning is associated with the need to maintain the efficiency of the cooling circuit and reduce the impact of contamination on production indicators. According to the company, the technology has already been integrated into the station's existing infrastructure.
Serovskaya GRES is part of PAO "OGK-2". The power plant with a capacity of 451 MW operates in the Sverdlovsk region and provides electricity to the industrial north of the Urals.
Recall that yesterday, at Primorskaya GRES, the modernization of power unit No. 6 was completed and it was put into commercial operation. The unit's capacity increased by 70 MW and reached the design 210 MW.
