The anthropomorphic (human-like) robot «Teledroid» will be sent to the International Space Station in the third or fourth quarter of this year. This was announced by Evgeny Dudorov, Deputy General Director for Production and Technological Development of the «Corporation Robotics» company.
We are already in the final stage of project implementation.
Dudorov expressed hope that the experiment with «Teledroid» on the ISS will begin in late 2026 or early 2027.
The robot is a torso-type system (without legs). It is equipped with technical vision and can perform some tasks autonomously. In addition, «Teledroid» copies the actions of the astronaut wearing the exoskeleton.
The robot's task is to reduce the load on the astronaut and increase labor productivity.
At the end of February 2026, Russian cosmonauts Petr Dubrov and Anna Kikina began practicing controlling «Teledroid». As part of the experiment on the ISS, the android will be sent into outer space, and the cosmonauts will be on board the station. Using virtual reality glasses, they will be able to see through the eyes of «Teledroid» and act with its hands.
