Russian engineers have created a version of the fiber-optic FPV drone "Knyaz Vandal Novgorodsky" (KVN-35) capable of delivering a 3 kg warhead to a distance of up to 35 km. This was stated by a designer involved in the project.
This is already a larger device — due to its increased size, it has also gained greater payload capacity and increased range.
If the operator uses the KVN-35 with a 23 km coil, the payload can be increased to 5 kg. That is, the serviceman will be able to choose: to fly further or "strike harder", the designer explained.
The creators of KVN are residents of SPC "Ushkuynik" (Veliky Novgorod). The fiber-optic strike drone was first used in the summer of 2024.
Since 2025, various modifications of the "Vandal" have been supplied to the Russian troops. The developers have devised several tactical scenarios for the use of the FPV drone, including launching from the unmanned boat "Skorlupa" for naval missions.
