The Russian Kalashnikov concern has registered the first positional trademark (a unique designation to distinguish goods). Rospatent issued a certificate for the fire mode selector-safety on the Kalashnikov assault rifle.
The fire mode selector-safety is made in the form of a complex-shaped part located on the right side of the weapon's receiver above the trigger.
The trademark will protect the unique design solution. It reduces the risk of competitors producing similar products.
Currently, the fire mode selector-safety is used in firearms, pneumatic weapons, mock-ups and mass-dimensional models, as well as products for playing airsoft.
The fire mode selector-safety is a fire control mechanism in assault rifles. It combines the trigger lock (safety function) and the selection of the firing mode - single or automatic. It helps the shooter prevent accidental shots.
