NATO Country Calls Purchase of S-400 "Triumph" Most Reasonable Decision

Turkish Defense Minister Emphasized That Air Defense Systems Are a Priority for the Country

Turkey still considers the acquisition of S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM) from Russia to be the most reasonable solution. This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Defense of the republic, Yaşar Güler.

He emphasized that air defense systems are the most priority need of all countries in the field of security.

At one time, we acquired the S-400 to meet the needs of national air defense. After purchasing this system, we informed our American partners of our intention to use it autonomously, without integration with NATO systems. Ultimately, we still consider this idea to be the most reasonable solution.

Recall that in 2017, Turkey purchased four divisions of «Triumphs» from Russia for $2.5 billion. After that, the United States excluded the republic from the F-35 fighter supply program. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan called such a decision unfair.
