The company "AvtokemperProm" has developed a motorhome on the extended and reinforced VIS Granta chassis. According to the creators, this is the first Russian camper with factory OTTS — previously, only conversions of mass-produced vehicles were made in the country, which then underwent repeat certification.
The VIS 2349 chassis based on the Lada Granta received an increased wheelbase and a payload capacity of 970 kg. The superstructure is manufactured by "AvtokemperProm" in Kolomna, while the base is produced in Tolyatti. Under the hood is a naturally aspirated 1.6-liter engine producing 90 hp paired with a five-speed manual transmission. The living module includes a sleeping place above the driver's cab, a shower compartment with the option of installing a portable toilet, a kitchen unit, and storage compartments. Two passenger seats have been retained.
For now, the vehicle is at the design stage: in 2026, the company plans to present a one-off concept. The decision on mass production will be made based on the results of the business model calculations. Before this, "AvtokemperProm" held negotiations with "Sollers" and "GAZ", but in the end the partner became a division of AvtoVAZ — VIS. The starting price of the production version is from 4,000,000 rubles.
Online, the project was met with some skepticism. Users pointed out two obvious questions about the concept: why the VIS Granta was chosen as the basis instead of the "Gazelle," which has a much greater payload capacity and is a more familiar base for superstructures, and why a camper intended for trips into nature lacks all-wheel drive.
